Fly into the capital of Cambodia and learn about Cambodia's rich history with a number of tours around Phnom Penh included. You'll be visiting a tropical island where you can snorkel on the coral reefs or relax with a drink by the ocean. Swim in warm tropical water and embrace island life. You'll then visit the riverside city of Kampot which has a fantastic atmosphere and incredible food. There will be a visit to a waterpark and opportunity to relax poolside. 

We head north to Siem Reap for the massive and stunning temples of Angkor Wat where you'll have a guided tour. You'll fall in love with this city full of night markets and even have the opportunity to visit the famous Pub Street.

You'll cross the border to Bangkok where you will visit bustling markets and spend a night out on Khao San road - famous for its nightlife, bucket cocktails, and local cuisine. 

After the bustle of Bangkok, we head north to the serenity of Chiang Mai. You can take the Add On and visit an Elephant Sanctuary which is nearby. The food is fabulous and you get to walk, wash and feed the gentle giants.

An exciting adventure across two countries in locations that are among the best places to visit in Asia. This is truly the experience of a lifetime!

Meals are not included in this program however low cost and nutritious meals are easily obtained at the venues we stop at and overnight along the way. 

Basic Itinerary
DAY 1 Itinerary

Arrive anytime on the first day. If you have purchased the airport collection add-on your team leader will be waiting for you in an ROV shirt holding an ROV sign. Alternatively, you can meet us at the accommodation listed in your 4 weeks prior to program email. There is a walking tour of Phnom Penh in the afternoon and a group dinner giving everyone a chance to get to know each other.

DAY 2 Itinerary

Today you will visit the Killing Fields and the S21 Genocide Museum to learn about Cambodia’s tragic history. You’ll stop for lunch after visiting the killing fields at a local restaurant. Spend the afternoon relaxing before having the opportunity to visit the Russian Markets - this is a great place to stop for dinner and you can sample some delicious food. Tomorrow you will be up bright and early as you make your way to the island. This is a good time to stock up on any snacks you may want.

DAY 3 Itinerary

Today you will make your way by bus/van to Sihanoukville. Some of the buses and vans love to bust out the tunes. Get your karaoke voice ready! On arrival at Sihanoukville, we’ll stop for lunch at a local restaurant before making our way to the pier to catch the boat to the island. When you arrive, there will be some time to settle into the accommodation (beach style bungalow). Enjoy a relaxing evening embracing island life.

DAY 4 Itinerary

The day is yours to explore the beautiful island of Koh Rong. Relax in the sun by the ocean, take leisurely beach walks, swim in the warm tropical water, or visit local restaurants and bars. There is also the optional add on to go snorkelling, allowing you to see the man-made coral reef that has been made to provide a sustainable fishing environment for the local villagers. At night take in the amazing bioluminescent water while you relax beachside.

DAY 5 Itinerary

Today you will travel back to Sihanoukville by boat before making your way to Kampot by bus. Kampot is a fun riverside city with lots to explore! Explore this beautiful riverside town, visiting local markets, taking a walk along the riverbank, grabbing a relaxing massage, or trying the famous Kampot pepper - it is amazing!

DAY 6 Itinerary

This morning those who have purchased the Kep half-day experience will travel by tuk-tuk to the small beachside town of Kep and visit the local crab markets. Kep is famous for its crab and crab markets, and you will have the opportunity to try some while we stop for lunch. If you don't love seafood, don't worry, there are plenty of other delicious options available. Those who haven't taken the add on can spend the morning relaxing by the pool at the accommodation or spend some time in town. In the afternoon we will be visiting a Cambodian waterpark when you can enjoy relaxing by the river or enjoying all of the water slides and attractions. Then enjoy a night out in town soaking up the riverside atmosphere.

DAY 7 Itinerary

Today we travel to Siem Reap, a wonderful, small bustling city with lots to do and see. On arrival, you will have some time to settle into your accommodation venue before going on a tour of the city. Visit the markets, get a massage or eat out at many of the great restaurants in town. The evenings are when Siem Reap comes to life with Pub Street at the centre of it all. There are amazing night markets, carnivals, restaurants and bars all waiting to be discovered. You can even try a local delicacy, bugs if you're game!

DAY 8 Itinerary

Make sure you've had a good night's sleep as you will be visiting Angkor Wat to see the sunrise! This allows for some pretty amazing Insta snaps! After seeing the breathtaking sunrise over the temples you will have a guided tour of Angkor Wat which is one of the largest religious monuments in the world, and learn about Cambodia's rich history. While on tour you'll even see the famous Ta Prohm Temple which is where Tomb Raider was filmed. On return from Angkor Wat there is free time for those who haven't purchased the Floating village add on. If you have purchased the add on you will visit the floating villages which are on the Tonle Sap lake - South East Asia's largest lake. Locals here live on houses raised by stilts, and you will enjoy a boat cruise through the villages

DAY 9 Itinerary

Today you have the chance for a lazy lie-in and a free day to explore Siem Reap if you haven't purchased today's optional activities. If you have purchased the add on you will be visiting the beautiful Kulen Mountain, swimming under waterfalls, hiking the nature trails and visiting the sleeping Buddha. Finish the evening with a trip to see the acrobatic circus which is providing a creative outlet for local Cambodian's

DAY 10 Itinerary

Today you'll be off to an early start as we make our way to Bangkok! Enjoy seeing the scenery as you travel through the jungles of Siem Reap, across the Thai border and make your way into the hustle and bustle of Bangkok. Settle into your accommodation and enjoy an evening in Bangkok

DAY 11 Itinerary

You will have a full day to explore Bankok at your leisure. Why not take a ferry ride on the river, or visit the local markets to take advantage of the great shopping. Bangkok is home to lots of shopping malls, and great restaurants and bars. There's also Khao San road which is famous for its nightlife, bucket cocktails and local cuisine.

DAY 12 Itinerary

This morning we leave Bangkok and make our way to Chiang Mai, a beautiful city in the mountains of northern Thailand which is full of beautiful temples and history.

DAY 13 Itinerary

We wake in the city of Chiang Mai. If you want to take the Elephant Sanctuary Add On you can travel to an elephant sanctuary in Chiang Mai and spend the day interacting with elephants who have been rescued and rehabilitated from the logging industry. For those who haven't taken the add on, you are free to explore Chiang Mai. You'll find lots of beautiful temples and lots of cafes to relax in while enjoying a coffee.

DAY 14 Itinerary

We'll spend the day in Chiang Mai, and you will have the opportunity to visit the amazing Golden Temple. This mountain temple is absolutely stunning with beautiful scenery surrounding it. This evening you will visit the Night Bazaar markets, full of amazing food stalls and great shopping.

DAY 15 Itinerary

Departure day. Enjoy a relaxed morning where you can say goodbye to your new friends. If you have booked the airport drop off add-on, your team leader will drop you at the airport.

Airport Information

  • Arrival: Phnom Penh International (PNH) – you can arrive at any time on the arrival day. Take the airport pick-up Add On and we will be there when you land.
  • Departure: Chiang Mai International (CNX) – you can depart at any time on the final day. Take the airport drop-off Add On and we will return you to the airport.
